With a newly open gondola to Alpine Meadows, Palisades is the largest ski and snowboarding resort in the Lake Tahoe area. Between the two resorts, they offer 43 lifts and over 270 runs. Palisades/Alpine Meadows participate in the Ikon pass system and are not a part of Epic. The 1960 Winter Olympics were held at this resort. They were the only major Lake Tahoe resort to offer night skiing, which has been since discontinued (the only place left for night skiing currently is Boreal)
