Built on top of an extinct volcano that created Lake Tahoe - Mount Pluto - Northstar California Resort is coming in with 20 lifts and 100 ridable trails. Northstar boasts arguably the biggest terrain parks in Lake Tahoe area, with all kinds of features from small ramps to massive well-maintained jumps to the halfpipe which typically opens later in the season. Northstar California is also currently the only major Lake Tahoe resort that offers mountain biking during the summer, right off the same skiing and snowboarding lifts that run during the winter.
